Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Marshall Too Much for the Bobcats

The Bobcats traveled to Huntington to take on Division I Marshall University, Monday but found the Thundering Herd to be too much, falling 93-63.

Wesleyan held the lead for the first five minutes but once Marshall tied it at 10-10, the Thundering Herd took over, going on a 10-point and 9-point shooting spree before the half that had the Herd up 41-24.

The Bobcats had a better shooting second half, hitting 52 percent from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line, but Marshall's 67 percentage kept Wesleyan at bay.

Rebounds favored the Herd as well with 41 boards to the Bobcats' 25.

For the second straight game, Michael Batchelor led the Wesleyan offense with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including three buckets from beyond the 3-point stripe. Curtis Litton added 11 points and a couple of rebounds and Alex Gray posted six points and six rebounds.

Marshall was led by Mikal Dawson who hit for 19 points and three rebounds, and Obinna Anochili-Killen with 14 points, three assists and five rebounds.

Wesleyan remains on the road for one final game before the holiday break. The Bobcats play Walsh University (Ohio) on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.
