Canton, Ohio- The Bobcats Men's and Women's Swim Team wrapped up their GMAC/MEC conference meet this Saturday, February 17th. Both Men and Women placed 10th with a Men's
score of 282 and an Women's score of 160.
Day 1:
In the Women's 200 Medley Relay, the Bobcats secured a respectable 9th place finish. Meanwhile, in the Men's 200 Medley an 8th place finish with a season-best time.
Individual performances also stood out during the meet. Zeina Abdelsalam in the Women's 1000 Free, cut her time by an astounding 53 seconds, securing the 26th place. In the Men's 1000 Free, Nick Gerosa showcased his skill with a solid 25th place finish with his season-best time.
Owen Caynor in the Men's 200 IM, secured 27th place while achieving a lifetime best time, cutting it by an impressive 11 seconds.
Caleb Martin, top individual, in the Men's 50 Free, finishing 23rd overall.
Team efforts also yielded commendable results. The Women's 200 Free Relay team showcased their skills, achieving a commendable 10th place finish with a season-best performance. Similarly, the Men's 200 Free Relay team secured the 8th place position and improving their time by 4 seconds, marking a season-best performance.
Day 2:
Jennifer Williams in the 400 IM displayed a season best time good for 28th place. Alie Dalle posted a season best time in the Women's 100 Fly for a 28th place finish. Maddie MacMilliam placed 35th in the event and displayed a season best time as well.
For the men,
Marcus Walker placed 10th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:15.14 and
Stephen Groves placing 21st with a time of 4:47.59.
The Women's 400 Medley Relay team placed 10th overall and the Men's placed 8th overall with a season best shaving off 17 seconds on their time.
Day 3:
This day was highlighted with
Marcus Walker placing 4th overall and 2nd in the MEC in the Men's 100 Breast. Also, earning a new school record in the event as well with a time of 55.76.
For the Women, Zeina Abdasalam finished 33rd in the 100 Backstroke and in the 100 Breaststroke, Jenny Williams and Ali Dalle placed 23rd and 24th respectively, both with a season best time.
The Relay Teams for Women's 800 Free finished 10th with a season best shaving 34 seconds off their last time. The Men's 800 relay team placed 9th with a season best reducing their time -11.94.
Day 4:
Saturday saw another school record broken by
Marcus Walker in the 200 Breast. He placed 3rd overall and was the MEC champion in the event. Breaking yet, another school record in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:02.92.
Caleb Martin placed 20th and earned a season best time in the Men's 100 free.
Jenny Williams finished 22nd in the Women's 200 Breast with a new season best time as well.
