Bobcats Take One Out of Three Against Chestnut

After facing the Griffins in the Wilson Tobbs Classic the previous week, the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday to take on Chestnut Hill College in a three-game series. Wesleyan took one win as Chestnut Hill won the two-weekend season series 3-2.

The Griffins outperformed the Bobcats in the first game of the series Friday, with a commanding 13-6 victory. Top performances by Aiden Myers, R.J. Huth, and Michael Pascoe helped lead the way as the three combined went 3-5 and tallied a combined total of eight RBIs.

Wesleyan was able to squeak out one win in the second game of the series after stopping a comeback from Chestnut. Jack Tilton went 4-4 with two doubles and three RBIs to help aid the Bobcats victory. Broderick Rohrbaugh had a stellar pitching performance, going six-and-a-third innings with only two earned runs allowed.

Chestnut Hill stole the Game 3 win on a walk-off 4-3 victory with an RBI single from Justin Geiger and a solid pitching performance from Dylan Broderick.

The Bobcats play at home for the first time of the season against Bluefield State University in a doubleheader. The first game begins at 2 p.m. and the second game begins at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13.
