The Bobcat Dance Team competed in the Dance Team Union Collegiate Virtual Championships in which the award ceremony was live streamed on Friday, March 15.
 
In the Division II Spirit Showdown category, where teams create a routine to showcase their college's traditions including the schools fight song, mascot, and time out routine, the team received third place with a score of 41.97 out of 50. Second place went to Our Lady of the Lake University with a score of 42.17 and first place went to Texas Woman's University with a score of 42.73. 
 
In the Division II Team Performance category in which dancers must portray technique and skills in three separate areas of jazz, pom, and hip-hop, The Bobcat Dancers received the First Place Championship Title! The team scored 83.73 out of 100. Second place went to Saginaw Valley State University with a score of 83.63, third place went to University of New Haven with a score of 81.70, fourth place went to the University of Indianapolis with a score of 81.60 and fifth place went to Wayne State University with a score of 81.03. 
 
The team also won the Judges Choice Award for Best Costume for their team performance Fire and Ice routine.
 
The WVWC Bobcat Dance Team will be hosting their third annual fundraiser dance show, "Spotlight" on Saturday, March 23rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.  
 

The Spotlight production will feature the team's game day routines from the 2023-2024 season, pieces from area dance studios, a surprise finale with coaches, and the debut of the dance team's competitive nationals routines! 


Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash only- ($8 for adults, $5 for students/youth and $3 with a WVWC ID).  Baked goods/snacks and dance team apparel/merch will also be available for purchase along with a silent auction. All funds go towards the dance team's trip to the NDA National Collegiate Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla.
