Wesleyan Gets Swept by Frostburg State

The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats took on Frostburg State University in a double header on Friday, Mar. 29. Unfortunately, the Bobcats were unable to come up with a victory in either game and moved to 4-4 in conference and 9-13 on the season.
     
Game one was rough for the Bobcats as Frostburg was able to accumulate 22 runs off 15 hits to claim a 22-5 victory.
     
The highlights for Wesleyan were Devin Johnson who went 2-3 with an RBI, Matt Turner went 1-1 with an RBI single, and Josh Ayala went 1-3 with 2 RBI's.
    
Frostburg came out swinging with key performances from Ethan Kiple who went 3-3 with two homeruns, Logan Helser who hit a grand slam and finished 1-2, and Mikey Guy who went 3-6 with four runs.
    
The winning pitcher for game one was Jacob McDonald, and the losing pitcher was Alex Hernandez.
           
Game two was no different as Frostburg kept its foot on the gas by tallying a total of 22 runs off 20 hits to win 22-3 and complete the sweep.

Contributors for the Bobcats included Ryan Drag who went 1-3 with a 2 RBI single, Jack Tilton and Thatcher Poteat who both went 1-3 with doubles.

Frostburg kept the ball rolling in game two as Justin Jimenez, Kiple and Guy all hit homeruns and rounded up nine runs from all three of them. Guy and Kiple continued their success as Guy went 4-4 with two RBI's and Kiple with 3-4.

The winning pitcher for game two was Max Proctor and the losing pitcher was Robbie Baker.

The Bobcats continue conference play in a double header against Fairmont State University on Saturday, Mar. 30. The first game is at 1 p.m. and the second game is at 3:30 p.m.
