by Ryan Drag, WVWC Sports Information

The Bobcats claimed a 4-3 victory in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday against The College of Saint Rose, after a dominating 12-4 performance in the first game.

It was scoreless until the bottom of the third when the Bobcats put up three runs off a pair of doubles from Grant Shumaker and Ryan Drag to score two RBIs. The third run came off an error later in the inning by the St. Rose shortstop K. Motley to score Drag.

The Golden Knights answered back in the top of the fourth with a double from James Ward to score Mike Benedetto to make it 3-1.

After keeping Wesleyan's bats silent for two innings, the Golden Knights tallied another run in the sixth when Ward scored Benedetto on a single.

The Bobcats' Hunter Eplin had a solid outing through six innings and was taken out in the top of the seventh for Alex Hernandez who put up a scoreless inning.

Wesleyan added some insurance in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single from Drag to score Jack Tilton to make it 4-2.

It all came down to the top of the ninth when Saint Rose was able to score one off a sacrifice fly from Kenyon Motley to make it 4-3.

The rally came to an end as Hernandez was able to get the save and secure the Bobcats victory.

The first game of the day was highlighted by Bobcat right fielder Josh Ayala who went 4-of-5 for three RBIs and a pair of doubles, second baseman Grant Shumaker who went 3-of-6 for one RBI, and left fielder Ryan Drag who went 3-of-5 and scored two runs.

Broderick Rohrbaugh took the complete 9-inning game win, giving up six hits and one earned run while striking out four and walking four.
