Buckhannon, W.Va.-
The Wesleyan softball team would close out the year at home dropping both games to the Pioneers of Glenville State. A mercy rule game 1 ended in 6 innings as the Pioneer's bats were hot. Wesleyan would collect 2 runs total between the two games as offense continued to be a struggle.
Game 1:
Kendall Stoffel would start the game and take the loss pitching 1.1 innings giving up 4 earned runs. Glenville would start the scoring in the 1st inning with a 2 run home-run over the right center-field wall.
Emma Jackson would collect the only run for the Bobcats on an RBI ground-out scoring
Jenna Gomez from 3rd base. A grand-slam in the 6th inning from Glenville would push the lead to 10 forcing a mercy-rule after the bottom of the 6th inning.
Game 2:
Josi Fix would take the loss pitching 5.1 innings giving up 4 earned runs.
Mollie White would pitch in relief giving up 2 earned runs in 1.2 innings. The Bobcats would hold a 1 run lead for the first 6 innings as
Kendall Stoffel would single in the 1st inning scoring
Jenna Gomez. In the top of the 6th, two singles would bring in 4 runs and make it 1-4 Pioneers. In the top of the 7th, a two-run home run for Glenville added some insurance runs and ended the game 1-6.
