Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Charleston Tops Bobcat Men 82-65

The Wesleyan men dropped a Mountain East Conference match up with the University of Charleston Wednesday, 82-65, in the Rockefeller Center.

Field goal percentage was dead-even at 42 percent for each team and Wesleyan held the three-point success advantage, hitting 35 percent from outside the arc to Charleston's 23, but the big lopsided statistic was turnovers: Wesleyan committed 20 while Charleston had just seven.

Senior Anthony Crosby led the Bobcat attack, posting a season-best 19 points, just one more than his previous best (18) against Glenville State last Saturday. His steady 7-of-8 performance, including a pair of 3-pointers, helped Wesleyan remain close through the first 20 minutes of play.

Senior Alex Mirhosseini who ranks ninth in the MEC with 16.1 point-per-game, had 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting and added three assists and five rebounds.

Charleston's Matthew Shelton led the Golden Eagles with 24 points and four rebounds. Ja'Corey Lipkins had 19 points and five rebounds. Trevor Barrett had 11 points and six rebounds. Dwaine Jones, who leads the league in assists, topped the stat chart with 12 dishes.

The Bobcats (3-12, 1-7 MEC) next head to West Virginia State University (6-8, 3-5 MEC) on Saturday, Jan. 18 for a 4 p.m. tip off.
