BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — October 19, 2025 — Wesleyan dropped a 2–0 decision to Frostburg State on Sunday afternoon at Culpepper Stadium. Despite generating consistent second-half pressure and a balanced defensive effort, the Bobcats couldn't overcome an early deficit against the visiting Bobcats from Maryland.
 
Frostburg State opened the scoring in the 14th minute when defender Mary Greco capitalized on an opportunity, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead. Wesleyan's back line, anchored by Natalie Carlock, Kierra Hoiler, and Carlie Ice, settled in after the goal to limit Frostburg's chances.
 
Keeper Maite Coutinho made two key saves in the opening half, including a low stop in the 13th minute to deny a strike from Carly Gillette.
 
On the offensive end, Isabella Mazza produced Wesleyan's best look of the half with a shot on frame in the 26th minute that was turned aside by Frostburg's goalkeeper Kayla Doty. Ava Badallo and Tessa Grisez each generated additional attempts, but the home side went into the break trailing 1–0.
 
Wesleyan came out aggressive to start the second half, earning two early corner kicks and a shot from Kaydence Bonneau that went just wide. However, Frostburg State doubled its lead in the 59th minute when substitute Rayiah Davis finished a loose ball in front of goal to make it 2–0.
 
Wesleyan continued to push forward through the final 30 minutes, recording four shots and maintaining strong possession in the attacking third. Badallo nearly broke through in the 79th minute with a rising shot that forced a save from Doty. Late attempts by Grisez and Mazza sailed just off target as Frostburg held firm defensively.
 
The Bobcats return to action at home against Glenville State University on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
