BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Backed by a roaring Rockefeller Center crowd of nearly 1,000, West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball delivered a commanding postseason performance, defeating Glenville State 3–1 (25–23, 26–28, 25–22, 25–20) to advance in the Mountain East Conference Tournament
 
The Bobcats, now 20–8, showcased the offensive depth and defensive grit that earned them the tournament's top seed.
 
MATCH SUMMARY
Set 1 — Wesleyan Holds Off Late Run (25–23)
The Bobcats opened the match with steady offense, posting 16 kills in the first frame.
Bhrooke Axe, Emily Denison, and MacKenna Halfin powered the attack, while libero Lacey Guthrie supplied crucial first-ball contacts as WVWC closed out a tightly contested opener.
 
Set 2 — Glenville Edges the Bobcats in Extra Points (26–28)
Glenville delivered its best offensive set of the night with 17 kills and just four errors, rallying late to tie the match. Despite 20 Wesleyan kills and improved offensive rhythm, the Pioneers capitalized on a few late Bobcat miscues to even the match.
 
Set 3 — Bobcats Regain Control (25–22)
Wesleyan roared back with one of its most efficient frames, hitting .441 behind 18 kills and only three errors.

Denison and Halfin led the surge, but the standout moment came from Axe, who delivered consecutive kills during a critical mid-set run that swung momentum firmly back to WVWC.
 
Set 4 — WVWC Closes the Door (25–20)
The Bobcats sealed the match with another strong hitting performance (.394 in the set).
Setter Claire Wheeler masterfully directed the offense, finishing with 28 assists, while Guthrie added 24, giving Wesleyan a true two-setter balance that kept Glenville off-balance all night.
 
A final push—highlighted by Denison's 23rd kill—sent Wesleyan to the semifinal round.
