The Bobcat Dance Team competed in the Dance Team Union Collegiate Virtual Championships for the second year in which the award ceremony was live streamed on Saturday March 15. The dance team finished in the top 3 in both of their routine categories.  
 

This year's Spirit Showdown Game Day category was combined with all divisions competing against each other.  In this category, teams create a routine to showcase their college's traditions including the schools fight song, mascot, and time out routine, this year there was a top 4 awarded out of 6 teams competing.  The WVWC Dance Team placed 3rd with a score of 57.87 out of 70, 4th place went to Saginaw Valley State University scoring 57.7, the 2nd place team was The University of Texas at Dallas with a score of 58.33 and the 1st place finish went to Grand View University scoring 58.67. Other teams competing in this division were Texas Woman's University and Kansas State University.  

In the Division II Team Performance category, in which dancers must portray technique and skills in three separate areas of jazz, hip hop and pom, the Bobcat Dancers received 3rd place with a score of 85.1 out of 100. Second place went to the University of Indianapolis scoring 85.57 and 1st place was awarded to Saginaw Valley State University with a score of 89.23.  The 4th place team was the University of New Haven with 83.7 and 5th place went to Wayne State University scoring 80.53. Other teams competing in this category were Montana State University Billings, and Morehouse College.  

The WVWC Bobcat Dance Team will be hosting their 4th annual fundraiser dance show, "Spotlight" on Saturday, March 29th at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
