Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Wesleyan Falls to Point Park 83-67

PITTSBURGH, Pa. —Wesleyan battled back with a strong second-half offensive effort, but Point Park used a fast start and a dominant performance on the glass to defeat the Bobcats 83-67 Friday night at CCAC-Allegheny.

Point Park jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the first 20 minutes. The Pioneers shot 50.0% from the field in the opening half and hit 6-of-15 from three-point range to stretch the margin.

The Bobcats showed flashes offensively behind perimeter shooting, but Wesleyan struggled to find sustained rhythm early and went into the locker room down 15.

Wesleyan came out aggressively to start the second half, with Jaden Westfall attacking the paint and Isaiah Baker pushing the pace. Wesleyan also got key perimeter production from Curtis Litton, who connected on four three-pointers on the night.

Despite the improved offensive execution, Point Park consistently answered with timely baskets, second-chance opportunities, and trips to the foul line. The Pioneers finished with 24 second-chance points and a 45-34 rebounding advantage, including 17 offensive rebounds, which helped keep Wesleyan from cutting the deficit into single digits for long.

Point Park also went 13-of-15 at the free throw line, including a perfect 8-of-8 in the second half, to maintain control late.

Wesleyan was led by Jaden Westfall, who posted 17 points and a game-high 10 rebounds while shooting 8-of-16 from the floor.

Isaiah Baker added 14 points and six rebounds, while Curtis Litton matched him with 14 points, knocking down 4-of-7 from three to provide a consistent perimeter threat.

Tristin Harkins contributed five assists, helping Wesleyan generate offense in spurts while the Bobcats finished with 11 assists on 27 made field goals.

Point Park was powered by Aidan Anderson, who poured in 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting while also grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers also got significant outside shooting from Kaden Warner (15 points, 5 threes) and Grant Welch (14 points, 4 threes), as Point Park finished 12-of-30 from beyond the arc.

The Bobcats travel to Wheeling University Wednesday, Feb. 4 for a 7:30 start.
