Bobcats win on Homecoming against Fairmont State

Buckhannon W. Va- West Virginia Wesleyan earned a 34–16 victory over Fairmont State on October 10, 2026, at Cebe Ross Field in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter when quarterback Liam McGuire hit Amari Colon-Brown for a 50-yard touchdown pass. After Fairmont State tied the game on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by Jevonte Wilson, Wesleyan quickly reclaimed the lead when Kameron Hebrock recovered an FSU fumble in the end zone.

In the second quarter, running back Jeremiah King extended the advantage with a 26-yard touchdown run. Fairmont State answered with a 31-yard field goal from Emmanuel Richardson, but McGuire struck again right before halftime, connecting with Ethan French on a 23-yard touchdown pass to give Wesleyan a 27–10 lead at the break.

Wesleyan widened its lead early in the third quarter when defensive back Eudean Dobson intercepted a pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown. Fairmont State added a 13-yard touchdown pass from Nino Marzullo to Gage Michael later in the period, but Wesleyan's defense held Fairmont State scoreless throughout the fourth quarter to secure the 34–16 victory.

Offensively, McGuire finished with 180 passing yards and two touchdowns, while King powered the ground game with 112 rushing yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Defensively, Eudean Dobson recorded six tackles and a pick-six, while Dylan Newman added a sack and an interception to complement team tackle co-leaders Alex Gutierrez and Antajuan Harvey, who registered eight tackles each. Overall, Wesleyan forced five turnovers—three interceptions and two fumble recoveries—and held possession for 32:55 to overcome Fairmont State's 348 to 314 total yardage advantage.
