ELKINS, W.Va. – In a fast-paced, back-and-forth regular season finale, the West Virginia Wesleyan College men's basketball team closed out the 2025-26 campaign with a 105-90 defeat at Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon inside the McDonnell Center.
 
Wesleyan (2-25, 1-19 MEC) shot an impressive 48.5 percent from the floor and 53.1 percent from three-point range, but Davis & Elkins (9-19, 6-14 MEC) countered with 59.1 percent shooting overall and 56.0 percent from beyond the arc to pull away in the second half.
 
The Senators struck first, but the Bobcats quickly settled in. After falling behind 4-0, Isaiah Baker knocked down a corner three at the 17:50 mark to ignite the offense. Curtis Litton followed with a pair of triples midway through the half, keeping the contest tight.
 
Tristin Harkins provided a spark off the bench, drilling back-to-back threes to give Wesleyan a 19-15 advantage with 12:33 to play. Moments later, a Lamont Jones jumper in the paint extended the Bobcat lead to 27-24.
 
The game featured eight lead changes and three ties, and neither side could create separation. Jerell Jean-Baptiste took control late in the half, hitting a trio of three-pointers in a five-minute stretch—including back-to-back buckets at 5:27 and 4:57—to give Wesleyan a 40-37 edge.
 
After Davis & Elkins answered, Litton buried his fifth three-pointer of the half with 1:17 remaining to knot the score at 49-49 heading into the locker room.
 
Wesleyan shot 50 percent from the floor and 63.2 percent from deep in the opening 20 minutes, matching the Senators shot for shot.
 
Out of the break, Davis & Elkins found another gear. A pair of early threes pushed the Senators ahead 55-49, and a 9-2 run midway through the half stretched the margin to double digits.
 
Jean-Baptiste continued to battle, converting an old-fashioned three-point play at the 14:33 mark to trim the deficit to seven. Litton and Milos Cirovic added key three-pointers as Wesleyan clawed back within 82-80 following a Nick Davis tip-in with 6:23 remaining.
 
But each time the Bobcats threatened, the Senators responded. A three from Dontrell Jenkins and consecutive baskets from Matthew Gray and Vegas Evans pushed the lead back to double figures. Over the final four minutes, Davis & Elkins capitalized on second-chance opportunities and transition buckets to seal the contest.
 
Jean-Baptiste led the Bobcats with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. Litton added 19 points, connecting on five three-pointers, while Jones contributed 11 points. Harkins finished with eight assists to pace the offense.
 
Wesleyan knocked down 17 three-pointers as a team and received 25 points from the bench.
 
Davis & Elkins was led by Nnadozie Okoroji's 27 points and Vegas Evans' 24-point, 14-rebound performance. The Senators outrebounded Wesleyan 40-26 and scored 44 points in the paint.
