Four Bobcats Awarded MEC All-Conference

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Wesleyan's head coach and four of Wesleyan's five starters were honored by the Mountain East Conference as All-MEC award winners. Senior Emma Witt, junior Sydney Baird, sophomore Ana Young and freshman Kilah Dandridge made the list and Dandridge was named 2026 Freshman of the Year.

Concord's Abbie Smith was named the MEC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, per a vote of the league's head coaches. Smith, a senior from Little Hocking, Ohio, is averaging 18.8 points per game and leads the league in rebounds per game averaging 10.8 a contest.
 
Wheeling's Kenzie Dalton was named named the MEC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. The senior from Marietta, Ohio, leads the MEC in steals with 95 on the season while averaging 3.4 per contest. Dalton has also help lead the Cardinals to the best Scoring Defense in the league allowing opponents just 58.9 ppg.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan's Kilah Dandridge was named the MEC Freshman of the Year. The Martinsburg, West Virginia native is 5th in the league in scoring, averaging 16.0 points per game and 3rd in the MEC in Field Goal Percentage at .541 percent.
 
While West Virginia Wesleyan's Brett Vincent was named the MEC Coach of the Year. Vincent, a Shinnston, West Virginia native, helped the Bobcats to a 18-6 overall record and 15-5 in league play while securing the overall No. 2 seed in the MEC Tournament this week. He is in his fifth season at the helm for the Bobcats.

In addition to the All-MEC first team and postseason award winners, the conference also recognized second team and honorable mention all-conference teams (listed below).
