Elkins, W.Va. – The Lady Bobcats bounce back after the loss earlier in the week with a 2-0 shutout on the road against their Route 33 rival, the Senators of Davis & Elkins, Saturday afternoon on Nuttall Field.
It was a quiet first half for both teams as there were only a combined 6 shots from both teams where none lead to a goal. Once again, the offensive spark came off the bench for Wesleyan as junior Mia Rodriguez came in the 2nd half scoring the game winning goal in the 63rd minute. Rodriguez continued her tear with her second goal of the game in the 71st minute off an assist by Sydne Alexander.
Goalie Reyna Dalton completed the shutout with 4 saves. Natalie Carlock, Leah-Rose Ireland, and Kaydence Bonneau did their part on the defensive side, playing all 90 minutes and only allowing 6 total shots.
The win moves WVWC to a 3-3-1 MEC record, and 3-4-2 overall. The Lady Bobcats are back at home on Wednesday, September 30th, as they host the Wheeling Cardinals at 5pm at Culpepper Stadium.
