Greg Stagani enters his second season as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at West Virginia Wesleyan. He is a 2012 graduate of Edison High School in Richmond, Ohio. Stagani’s guidance, leadership and consistent outings on the mound have helped him and his teammates achieve many accolades throughout his high school and collegiate career. At Edison High School, Coach Stagani holds records in every pitching category. Through 4 Varsity seasons he captured 26 wins, 276 strike outs including 2 no hitters and compiled a 1.37 ERA. He captained the All Valley Team his senior year and was named 4A OVAC Player of the Year, Eastern District Player of the year and played in the Mizuno All-Ohio Senior Tournament. With his team, the Wildcats claimed multiple Conference, Sectional and District Titles as well as Regional Competition.
A graduate of West Liberty University, Coach Stagani earned his BA in Health and Physical Education and his MA in Sport Leadership and Coaching. West Liberty belongs to the Mountain East Conference. Recovering from "Tommy John" surgery in his first fall season at Mount Vernon Nazarene, Coach Stagani went on to receive first and second team All-Conference MEC Pitching awards, National Pitcher of The Week Award, as well as being nominated as the NCAA Division II Pitcher of the Week by the NCBWA. Stagani and the Hilltopper’s saw MEC Conference tournament play in each season of attendance.
The FCBL in the New England States was home for Coach Stagani in the summer. The Worcester Bravehearts home field is at Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachussetts. Stagani competed with the Bravehearts for two summer seasons, contributing on the mound to FCBL Championship wins, was selected for the 2015 and 2016 Pitching Exhibitions and the 2016 FCBL All-Star Team to accompany his single season and career awards.
Coach Stagani is the son of Robert and JoAnn of Richmond, Ohio and has two siblings, Tyler and Ashley.
