Hunter Thomas has served West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics and the baseball program in a multitude of different positions. He enters his fourth overall season as a WVWC baseball assistant coach and his first as the recruiting coordinator in 2021-22.
Thomas was a 2-year starting infielder at nearby Davis & Elkins College from 2017-18. As a junior, he started all 38 games he appeared in with a .286 batting average one home runs and eight runs batted in. In his senior season, Thomas hit .293 over 39 games with eight doubles, 15 RBI and 27 runs scored.
Before playing at Davis & Elkins, Thomas spent two years at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, N.Y., where he batted .391 with 18 RBI and seven stolen bases as a freshman shortstop. During his sophomore campaign, Thomas smashed four home runs and collected 40 RBI while hitting.326 for the Cannoneers. He was an assistant coach for the Watertown Rapids of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in 2019.
