Cortney Roberts is entering his second season as the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks’ coach at Wesleyan.
After year one, the Bobcat passing game saw tremendous improvements. The Bobcat passing game went from 10th to 2nd in the conference and from 137th to 45th nationally only after one year.
Before arriving to Wesleyan, he was the quarterbacks’ coach at Saint Vincent College. In 2016, the Saint Vincent College Bearcats had the 22nd ranked passing offense in the country. During the same season, the Bearcats broke nearly every passing record.
Through the air, quarterback Derek Stewart threw for 2,973 yards which is top 10 in the PAC history. Furthermore, during homecoming, Derek set single game records for passing yards (442) and touchdown passes (7). The seven touchdown passes thrown is tied for the most in PAC history. Stewart was named PAC Newcomer of the Year, and earned invites to several NFL camps following the 2016 season.
