Joshua Brown is a native of Jefferson County, West Virginia, and a graduate of Jefferson High School, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in three sports. As a standout wide receiver, Brown earned All-State honors and was named the 2006 Gatorade West Virginia State Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Brown continued his football career at Edinboro University, playing three seasons with the Fighting Scots. In 2009, he helped lead Edinboro to an NCAA Division II playoff appearance, finishing the season as the team’s leading receiver.
He later graduated from Fairmont State University, where he began his coaching career. Brown served one season as the Wide Receivers Coach at Fairmont State, coaching at his alma mater before transitioning to the high school ranks.
From 2013–2014, Brown served as the Offensive Coordinator at Jefferson High School, overseeing the development of skill players and implementing the offensive system.
Brown then joined Martinsburg High School as an Assistant Football Coach from 2019–2020, contributing to the Bulldogs’ continued dominance. During his tenure, Martinsburg won the 2019 WVSSAC Class AAA State Championship, further cementing the program’s legacy as one of the most successful in West Virginia history.
Brown brings a strong background in player development, speed training, and competitive excellence to the West Virginia Wesleyan football program.
