Jennifer Hefner is entering her fifth season as the assistant volleyball coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2021.
Hefner brings to Wesleyan over 13 years of volleyball coaching experience. She has coached at the college, high school and club levels. Hefner currently coaches club volleyball in the offseason at CATZ Volleyball Club.
Before West Virginia Wesleyan, Hefner was the head volleyball and softball coach at Bridgeport High School. She then became the head volleyball coach at Trinity High School in Morgantown. She coached at Penn Highlands Volleyball Club.
After her stint at Trinity High School, Hefner became the assistant varsity coach at Morgantown High School. While at Morgantown, Hefner helped coach the Mohigans to their first-ever state tournament appearance in school history.
After coaching at Morgantown High School, Hefner was named an assistant coach at Penn State-Fayette where she coached with Coach Nancy Wheeler.
Prior to her coaching career, Hefner was a stand-out athlete at neighboring Alderson Broaddus College (now University). The native of Shady Spring, W. Va. was a two-year member of the A-B volleyball team and a four-year member of the softball team. Hefner was the WVIAC Co-Player of the Year her junior season. She was a three-time all-conference performer and a three-time all-tournament performer. The softball team at A-B finished the year regular season undefeated her junior year.
Hefner was inducted into the Alderson Broaddus Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
Hefner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Radiography from Alderson Broaddus in 2000. She graduated from WVUH School of Radiologic Technology in 2000 as well.
Jennifer is married to Chad Hefner, who is also a graduate of Alderson Broaddus. Chad is a former baseball player and head coach of the Battlers. The couple resides in Bridgeport and has two daughters – Payton and Shea.
