Women's Soccer Earns Huge Road Win

Athens, WV- West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Soccer picked up a huge road win against Concord University on Thursday afternoon. The Mountain Lions came into the contest just four points behind the Lady Cats in the MEC South Division standings.

Wesleyan would jump to a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when Shannon Shawgo played a ball in from the end line to the middle of the box that was slotted past the keeper by Chrystal Posada . 

The Lady Cats would take that lead into the half but would extend it moments later. In the 48th minute, Carolyn Saulle finished off a teammates shot that was saved by the Concord keeper. 

Concord would cut the lead in half in the 59th minute when Courtney Wallace scored her sixth goal of the season.

Wesleyan would catch stride after the Concord goal and notched goals in the 63rd and 73rd minutes respectively to push the lead to 4-1. Haelly Ramirez and Marissa Zetty would be responsible for the increasing the lead for the Lady Cats. 

Wesleyan remains unbeaten in their last twelve contests, and have not dropped a game in MEC play. The Lady Cats will be back in action on Sunday against Urbana for Senior day.
