Buckhannon, WV- Women's Soccer took the pitch on Sunday against Urbana University. Before the game, the Lady Cats were able to recognize their seniors for the their contributions to Wesleyan and the soccer program over the last four years.
Wesleyan got on the board in the 18th minute when
MaKatlyn Tucker facilitated a through ball for
Natalie Prater who beat the keeper with her shot that went to the bottom left corner.
Wesleyan would take that 1-0 lead into the half. The Lady Cats would hold a slight advantage in shots with seven to the visiting teams four.
The Lady Cats would get six shots off in the first part of the second half, but they failed to pose any real threats for the Urbana keeper. The score remained 1-0 in Wesleyan's favor with 20 minutes remaining.
The Lady Cats would extend in the lead in the 74th minute. Jadyn Tavelkelian's throw in would bounce around in the box and was eventually intercepted by
Marissa Zetty who fired a shot to the bottom right corner to beat the Urbana keeper.
Wesleyan would hold on to the 2-0 lead and keep their unbeaten streak at twelve games.
