Softball Goes 1-1 at Shepherd

BUCKAHNNAON- West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team took on Shepherd Sunday afternoon winning the first game 3-2 and losing the second game 8-5.

During their first match up, in the top of the 6th inning Brittani Bible singled to third base then advanced to second on the throw bringing in Arianna Smoot for the first run. Megan Magsamen singled, Kennedy Cowart advanced to third while Kelley Bourne scored along with Brittani Bible for the final two runs.

Continuing on to the second match up, in the top of the 1st inning, Bible singled to left field, Sara Scoone advanced to second and Lauryn King scored. Kasey Robinson singled to right field, Bible advanced to second and Scoone brought in the second run. In the top of the 5th inning, Bible singled to center field, while Morgan Bruce advanced to third on an error and scored on the throw and Krista Waggoner came in right behind her for the fourth run. Olivia Conaway reached on an error, Brianna Ross advanced to second bringing in Bible to score the final run.

The Bobcats advance their overall record to 8-7 and 2-1 in the MEC. They will return to the field on Monday at Fairmont for a 2:30pm and 4:30pm start.
