BUCKHANNON – West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team earned their eight consecutive win during their two competitions against West Virginia State on Sunday with final scores of 1-0, and 8-0.
In the first competition, the sole action of the game was in the first inning when
Lauryn King flied out to center field bringing in
Madison Casto to score the first and only run of the game.
In the second competition, things heated up in the first inning when
Krista Waggoner singled to center field while King and Casto scored.
Aylin Gutierrez homered bringing in Waggoner to score. In the 3
rd inning, King scored on an error by the second basemen. Then to bring things to a close, in the 4
th inning King homered while Casto and
Arianna Smoot scored.
The Bobcats increase their overall record to 33-10 and 24-4 in the MEC. They will return to the field at Concord on Friday for start times at 1pm and 3pm.
