Shepherdstown- Wesleyan Men's Soccer hit the road on Thursday for a conference match against Shepherd University. The Bobcats were able to pick up their second conference win of the season with a 5-0 victory.
Liam Igoe was the first goal scorer of the game when
Matthew Bentley assisted him in the 14th minute. This was the second goal of the season for Igoe, and second in the last three games. This was the only goal of the half for Wesleyan.
The second half the Bobcat attack began to take it to the Shepherd Rams.
Zach Whiting scored on a header in the 52nd minute off of service from
Dominic Okus.Â
Liam Igoe would fill up the stat sheet once again as he assisted
Kazuma Takagi in the 64th minute.
Tanner Amos would put the Bobcats up 4-0 in the 71st minute. Okus and Whiting were both credited with the assist.
Matthew Bentley would cap off the scoring for the game when he scored an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute to put Wesleyan up 5-0.Â
Wesleyan would have 29 shots in the game with 15 of them coming on goal.
Liam Igoe would be the game leader in assists with 2. The Bobcats would have an impressive five different goal scorers in the game.Â
Men's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Wheeling Jesuit at home. The game will be played on the turf, and is set to start at 4:30 PM.Â
