Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bobcats Storm Back to Steal a Road Win

Exciting Comeback Victory at Notre Dame

Recap

West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball had been playing well, but inconsistent, coming into Saturday's game at Notre Dame. While their performance did not solve the consistency problem, it did prove that time-and-again, this a team that will not quit. The resiliency of this group must be commended, as they have comeback from over twenty-points-down to win their past two conference road games. It is likely that there is not another team in the country, regardless of division, that can also claim that fact. The Bobcats also had an opportunity this week to win the games that good teams win, facing the bottom two teams in the league, and they got the job done.

They now sit tied for third in the Mountain East Conference heading into the holiday break, and have a handful of players that have proven the ability to take over games. Saturday against Notre Dame it was Ross Young. The junior forward kept getting fed the ball deep in the post, and he was adept at drawing fouls, and scoring with the occasional running hook shot. His ten-for-ten mark at the free throw line is impressive for a player that struggled there earlier on in the season. Senior Dusan Vicentic also made clutch shots down the stretch, leading the team with twenty-seven points. This game was truly a tale of two halves, as the Falcons scored 50 points in the first, and the Bobcats scored 53 in the second. Down nineteen points at the half, the Bobcats put up a 63.0/61.5/91.7 shooting line in the next twenty minutes to climb back in it. They also poured in seventeen points in the five minute overtime, led by Vicentic with seven.
