Institute, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball team traveled to West Virginia State University Saturday Afternoon for a conference match-up. The Bobcats come into the game with a 9-12 overall record and a 6-9 conference, opposed to State coming into the game with a 12-9 overall record and a 8-7 conference record.
As the game began, it would be a high paced match-up between the two squads. The Bobcats would shoot 60% at the end of the first half and just over 40% from behind the arc, opposed to State shooting 55.8% from the field and just over 50% from three. Both teams would also be perfect from the free throw line. These teams would continue to stay hot throughout the first half and looking to continue that in the second half as well.
As the first half came to a close the Bobcats would be down by 11 points (36-47).
With the beginning of the second half, the Wesleyan Bobcats would need to find a way to slow down the State offense.
The Bobcats defense would slow State down but, they would need to put up more points if they want to stay in the game.
As the clock would tick down the Bobcats would continue to struggle behind the arc as they were just 2 of 14 from three and degrees there field goal percentage to 45% in the second half. State would run away with the game as the final score would end up 80-65.
