Shepherdstown, WV--
Game 1-
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Baseball team comes into today's doubleheader with a 7-9 record facing off with Shepherd University. Opposed to Shepherd coming in with an 8-7 record. Both teams looking to pick up their first conference wins this weekend.
On the mound for the Bobcats would be Senior pitcher
Jake Bishop looking to give his team their first conference win.
In the top of the second inning
Ryan Kiser would reach on a single and
Antonio Vega would then reach on a fielder's choice.
Dominic Castello would come up and single to the shortstop.
Alex Skinner would come to the plate for the Bobcats and he would line one into center field but
Antonio Vega would tag up and put the Bobcats on the board first (1-0).
In the bottom half of the inning the Rams would answer as they tack on two runs on two hits.
Shepherd University would put up one more run in the bottom of the third and then it would be a pitching dual as no one would score until the bottom of the 5th as Shepherd would pick up their last run making the game 4-1. The Bobcats would have certain opportunities to score throughout the game but could not capitalize as the Bobcats would be taken down 4-1.
Players of the game would be
Antonio Vega as he was 2 for 3 with 1 run and
Jake Bishop with 4.2 innings pitched and giving up 4 earned runs with 1 strikeout.
The next game will be played 30 minutes from the end of game 1.
Game 2-
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Baseball team would be back for game 2 as they look to split with the Rams this Saturday. On the mound for the Bobcats would be Junior pitcher
Griffin Roe as he looks to put the Bobcats on top.
The Bobcats would get out on top right away as
Greg Smith would line one into the right center gap turning it into a double.
Jonathan Cintron would then move Smith over to third base and
Ryan Kiser would step to the plate with 2 outs. Kiser would line one into left field bringing in
Greg Smith to make the ball game 1-0 as the Bobcats would look to continue this momentum.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Rams would take the lead scoring 3 runs off three hits, making it 3-1.
The Bobcats would fail to score another run the rest of the game.
The Rams would tack on another run in the second inning. It wouldn't be until the fourth inning until another run was scored, where Shepherd erupted for 5 runs.
The Bobcats would end the game with 4 hits, and the Rams would double that with 8. The error differential was also in the Rams' favor with +2 for the Bobcats.
Ryan Potts would be awarded the win for the Rams with 9 strike-outs, only 1 walk, and 1 earned run over the full 7 innings.
Griffin Roe would take the loss with 7 strike-outs, 4 walks, and 9 earned runs.

Game 3: Bridgeport, WV--
The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats look to bounce back after taking two losses to Shepherd University yesterday. The Bobcats are currently 0-2 in conference play and looking to split the different in today's doubleheader against Fairmont State.
On the mound for the Bobcats would be Freshman pitcher
Michael Maiolo looking to pick up another win for his team and earn his first conference win.
In the bottom of the second inning the Falcons would pick up 4 hits and 3 runs with 1 extra base hit as the Falcons have a big inning making it 3-0.
It wouldn't be until the top of the 4th inning when the Bobcats would strike and take the lead back.
Antonio Vega would start the inning off with a single.
Eric Forbrick would come to the plate with 0 oust as he would smash a home run to right center field bringing the Bobcats within 2 runs. The Bobcats would have a 2 out rally as
Tanner McCallister would single down the left field line scoring
Ryan Kiser from second base as
Nick Grotti would move to third base. Next up would be Senior
Greg Smith as he would line one into right field taking the lead of the game 4-3 with runners on 1st and 3rd.
The Bobcats would give one back to the Falcons as the score would be 4-4 in the bottom half of the 4th.
Domonic Castello would come in the game in the 6th inning to come in relief for
Michael Maiolo.
Castello would shut the door as he would get out of many jams for the Bobcats. It would be a pitching dual as the Bobcats would fail to score. The Falcons would tack on the game winning run as they scored on an inside the park home run as
Alex Skinner was running back to the wall and ran into it, the Falcon runner would trot around the bases as the Falcons would win in the bottom of the 11th inning 5-4.
Final: Bobcats 4 - Falcons 5
Game 4:
The Bobcats look to scoop up the last game of the 4 game series this weekend as they lost the previous 3. On the mound for the Bobcats would be Senior pitcher
Hunter Rotarius looking to earn a win for his team.
The Falcons would have a big inning in the bottom of the 3rd inning as Rotarius would give up 5 hits and 1 error from the bobcat defense as the Falcons making it a 5-0 ball game.
In the top of the 5th inning the Bobcats would start to chip away as
Greg Smith would start the inning off with a walk and
Jonathan Cintron would single
Antonio Vega would reach on an error as Smith would come into score. Erick Forbrick would then hit a sac fly to right field making it a 5-2 game.
Ryan Kiser would also hit a sac fly to right field as the Bobcats would bring the game within just 2 runs.
The Bobcats would fail to score anymore runs as they pick up only 1 hit after their big 5th inning. The Bobcats would come up short as the Falcons go onto win the last game of the series 5-3.
Final: Bobcats 3 Falcons 5
The Bobcats will be back in action next weekend as they take on Wheeling Jesuit at home, come out and support the Bobcats!
