Buckhannon, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan College Baseball team took on Salem University in a single 9 inning non-conference game Tuesday night. The Bobcats come into today's game with a 10-14 record opposed to the Tigers who come in with a 16-13 record.
The Bobcats would have a staff day as many pitchers would get an opportunity to throw, on the mound to start the game would be Junior pitcher
Julio Medina looking to receive his first win this year.Â
The Tigers would be off to a good start as they would continue to put up runs will the Bobcat offense was struggling with just a few hits.
By the top of the 7th inning the score was 11-0 and the Bobcats who need to start a rally in order to stop the blow out.
Josh Petit would work a walk for the bobcats and
Trahern White would stroke a single into center field to get the Bobcat offense started.
Ben Fulks would then hit both White and Petit in as the Bobcats would start to narrow the lead down but still a long way to go.
Nick Grotti would single to left center field later in the inning scoring Fulks to make it an 11-3 ball game.Â
In the bottom of the 8th inning
Leo White would single down the 3rd base line as
Noah Birthisel would come into score as the Bobcats are down 11-4.Â
In the top of the 9th inning the Tigers would tack on 2 more runs on 2 hits and 1 error as the game is 13-4 as the Bobcats would need a huge inning.Â
Th Bobcats would score 1 run on a SAC fly from
Noah Birthisel, but it wouldn't be enough as the Tigers would over power the Bobcats 13-5.
The Bobcats will be back in action this Saturday at Urbana University at 1:00PMÂ for a conference doubleheader match-up.Â
