In the third inning, Destiny Alvarado hit a solo homer, followed by a three-run homer from Kiley Turner to increase the Lady Bobcat's lead to 5-1. Wesleyan put up another seven runs in the fourth inning to seal Charleston's fate in the first game and win 12-1.

Charleston responded with a two-run homer of their own in the second inning to knot the score at 2-2. The Golden Eagles notched another run in the third inning to take the lead, 3-2. The Lady Bobcats responded by putting up four runs in the fourth inning to take back the lead at 6-3 thanks to RBI singles from Ciana Bowen and Brooke Clark and a 2 RBI double from Alvarado.
