Buckhannon, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan College Baseball team would play a four game home series against the powerful Golden Eagles from Charleston. The Bobcats come into the game with a 7-5 conference record opposed to the Golden Eagles coming in with a 9-2 conference record.

Game 1:

The Golden Eagles would get on top in the top of the 1st inning due to 3 hits and 1 error as they would put up 3 runs. It would be known early that Charleston would be a factor on the base paths and would have to be tamed by the Bobcats defense.

Charleston would tack on another run in the 4th inning on 2 hits and 1 more run in the top of the 7th inning, making it a 5-0 ball game going into the bottom of the 7th inning.

The Bobcats would have one more chance to tie it up or win the game as the middle of the order was due up. Dominic Castello would walk to start off the inning, Travis Renner would get hit by a pitch and Josh Petit would single loading the bases up for Nick Grotti. Grotti would get hit by the pitch and would bring in a run making it 5-1. Alex Skinner would come up with 2 outs with the bases loaded and he would also get hit by a pitch to bring it to a 3 run game. Eric Forbrick would then come up with a chance to do damage as he would single through the left side to make it a 2 run game with Antonio Vega coming to the dish. Vega would ground out to third to end the game as the Bobcats are defeated in game 1 by a score of 5-3.

Game 2:

On the mound for game 2 would be Junior pitcher Griffin Roe out of Stewart, FL as he looks to pick up his 3rd win of the season.

It would be all the Golden Eagles in game 2 as they would put up 10 straight run on 8 hits will the Bobcats offense struggled.

The Bobcats would put up 5 hits as they could not score the entire 7 innings.

The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow as they take on the University of Charleston again for another two games at home, due to weather the games would be moved up an hour to 12:00 o'clock.

Game 3:

On the mound for game 3 would be Senior pitcher Hunter Rotarius from Apopka, FL looking to pick up his 2nd win of the year.

The Golden Eagles would strike first as they put 3 runs across in the top of the 2nd inning on 5 hits and 1 error. The Bobcats would need to hold the powerful Charleston offense as they would continue to put up runs.

In the bottom of the 4th inning the Bobcats would find a way to put 1 run across. Ryan Kiser would lead things off as he would single and then Travis Renner and Kolby Wolf  would both reach on a hit by pitch to load the bases. Kiser would come into score on a wild pitch but would fail to capitalize on any other runs.

Charleston would answer in the top of the 5th inning as they put up 1 run on 2 hits as the Bobcats would need to keep chipping at the lead.

In the top of the 7th inning, Charleston would make it a four run deficit as they make it 5-1 as the Bobcats would be down to their last chance.

Game 4:

On the mound for game 4 would be Senior pitcher Dominic Castello from Pittsburgh, PA looking to pick up his 4th win of the season.

In the top of the first inning the Golden Eagles would waste no time as they would tack on the first run of the ball game.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning the Bobcats would respond with a run. Jonathan Cintron would single into left field and advance to second base on a past ball. Ryan Kiser would move him over to 3rd base bringing Todd Burner up to bat. Burner would single to the left side making it a 1-1 game.

In the top of the 4th inning, the Golden Eagles would put up 3 more runs as it appears every time the Bobcats would score, they Golden Eagles would have an answer.

Travis Renner would start of the bottom of the 6th inning with a solo shot to left field to bring the game within 2 runs to give some life to the Bobcats. Nick Grotti would then double to right center field, Ryan Kiser would then single bringing in Grotti to score as they would be down by just 1 run going into the 7th inning.

The Golden Eagles would pick up 3 runs due to a 3 run home run to left field that gave Charleston there momentum back.
