Buckhannon, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats come into today's contest against Concord University with a 2-3 overall record and 2-1 in coference. The Mountain Lions come in with a 5-0 record and 1-0 in conference.
The Lady Bobcats would waste no time as
Haelly Ramirez would score her 3rd goal of the year within the first minute of the game, she would be assisted by
Shannon Shawgo.
The game would go quite into the half as the Mountain Lions would put up shot after shot, but they wouldn't find the back of the net as the Lady Bobcats would head into the half with a 1-0 lead. The Mountain Lions would have 11 shots, opposed to the Lady Bobcats only with 3 shots.
After the half, the Mountain Lions would maintain control the entire second half as Leah Foster of the Mountain Lions would tie it up. The Lady Bobcats would need to take back the control of the game, in order to surpass the Mountain Lions.
Kayla Fay of Wesleyan would take a corner in the 67th minute, the ball would be deflected back to her and she would drill it over the goalies head to make it a 2-1 game.
The Mountain Lions would not give up without a fight as they would continue to put shots up on the board but would not get any in the back of the net.
The Lady Bobcats would go on to win this conference game 2-1 against the undefeated Mountain Lions.
Chelsea Hubner would collect 10 saves on the night, as
Kayla Fay and
Haelly Ramirez would put up the points.
