Buckhannon, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan College Football team opens up their 2019 season against the Urbana University Blue Knights. The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats are looking to bounce back from last season with
Tony Testa as the new head coach. The Bobcats were 1-10 last season while the Blue Knights are coming off a 5-6 season.
The Urbana Blue Knights would be the first team to score as in four plays they would score a 65 yard touchdown as the Bobcats would look to answer.
The Bobcats would start their drive with 9 minutes on the clock, quarterback
Jarrett Northrop would drop back to pass and would get pressure, fumble as the Blue Knights would pick the ball up and score. The Bobcats would answer the next drive as
Jarrett Northrop would connect to
Devin Taylor over the middle of the field, as he was taken down at the 3 yard line for a 60 yard gain. Shaq Freeman-Park would punch it in as the Bobcats would make it a 14-7 game.
The Blue Knights would go on to score 29 unanswered points in the second and third quarter. It wouldn't be until the 4th quarter where the Bobcats would pick up one more touchdown. Northrop would march his team down the field with 6 minutes left on the clock and connect to Teneval for the 10 yard touchdown. The Bobcats would be too late as the Blue Knights would go on to win 43-14.
The Bobcats will be back in action next Saturday at Davidson College for a Non-Conference match-up.
