Recap
Dusan Vicentic is certainly proving to be one of the best players in the Mountain East Conference, however the Bobcat wins are not coming at the same pace as his points. Wesleyan dropped their fifth game since the Holiday break on Saturday at Davis & Elkins 83-76, but it wasn't the doing of their senior forward. Vicentic had a game-high twenty nine points and twelve rebounds against the Senators, his sixth double-double of the season. Despite his big day, it was three point shooting and turnovers that again derailed the Bobcats.
Both teams shot practically the same from the field, and Wesleyan shot significantly better from the free throw line, and out-rebounded the Senators by sixteen. That is normally a recipe for success, but shooting 22.7% from three-point, their second game this week under 30.0%, and turning the ball over twenty times, is not going to win games in a league as good as the MEC. They also could not slow down Donte Doleman, the fifth leading scorer in the league, as he got his twenty-one points in a variety of ways. Overall, Saturday is another disappointing loss for a team that looked to be a surprising contender earlier in the season. In order to get back in the win column and stay in it more often, ball control and perimeter shooting must improve.

What's Next
It does not get any easier for Wesleyan next week, as they take on the Northern Panhandle teams. The game Wednesday will be at Wheeling, who has been a very competitive 6-5 this season in the MEC. On Saturday, the 'Cats host West Liberty who currently leads the nation in points per game (106.3).
Davis & Elkins will also be taking on the Panhandles, traveling to the daunted ASRC at West Liberty on Wednesday where Wesleyan won earlier this year, and also playing at Wheeling on Saturday.
