Recap
It has been one of the stories of the season so far, the Bobcats love to play their way back to victory from behind. This has been especially true on the road, as the 75-72 win over Wheeling on Wednesday night is now the third double-digit comeback victory away from home this year. The Bobcats played a better first half on Wednesday than they did in the other contests at West Liberty and Notre Dame, but the truth remains the same, this is not a team that you want to try and put away. Once again, the sources of late success were clutch shots from
Daylin Lee, timely turnovers forced by the press, and put-away free throws in the final seconds. Coach
Nick Patella has his team prepared for the last five minutes of the game, as their full court press has been excellent in forcing pressure and turnovers all season. The Bobcats also had a balanced attack on the offensive end on Wednesday night, as
Luka Petrovic,
Daylin Lee,
Dusan Vicentic, and
Ross Young all contributed double-digit points. This is an important win to stay in the thick of the Mountain East Conference race for tournament seeding; the top six spots are coveted to avoid the dreaded play-in games that happen to seeds seven through ten. They are now currently tied with Wheeling for that sixth spot.Â
Team Records

What's Next
West Virginia Wesleyan has an exciting matchup with West Liberty on the docket for Saturday afternoon. The Hilltoppers lead the nation in scoring, and will be looking to avenge their home loss to the Bobcats earlier this year. There should be a good crowd at the Rockefeller Center for a 4 PM tip. Lucas Trovato will be back on the broadcast for Wesleyan on the MEC Digital Network.
Wheeling hosts an inconsistent Davis & Elkins team on Saturday that beat Wesleyan last weekend, but was just throttled at West Liberty on Wednesday night. The Bobcats will have a rooting interest on the Senators in that one to knock Wheeling down a spot in the MEC standings.
