Recap
When
Luka Petrovic nailed a three-pointer to tie the game under thirty seconds, it appeared that Wesleyan was going to pull off another classic road win. Getting ahead early, letting it slip away, and charging back to win at the end has become the Bobcats road to victory away from Buckhannon. However they were not so fortunate on Thursday night, as WVSU pulled it together in overtime, and eventually took the win 97-87.
Luka Petrovic was outstanding again for Wesleyan, his thirty-one points are a career high, and he also added seven assists and six steals to his line. His clutch three-pointer is what sent the game to overtime, and he was fantastic from the top of the key with
Dusan Vicentic all night. Without
Daylin Lee due to injury, Petrovic and Vicentic had to step up and run the offense for over forty minutes. Along with support from
Clay Todd and
Ross Young, the Bobcats scored the fourth most points they have all season without their second-leading scorer. The 'Cats were also a perfect fifteen-of-fifteen from the free throw line, and were adept at scoring off Yellow Jacket turnovers.Â
Team Records
This is a difficult loss for Wesleyan, they now drop to 8-9 in the Mountain East Conference, still a place below Wheeling.

What's Next
Wesleyan will host Charleston on Saturday at 4 PM in the Rockefeller Center. The Golden Eagles are now tied for second in the MEC, and the Bobcats will be looking to avenge a large road loss at UC earlier this season.Â
WVSU will look to continue their climb up the MEC standings on Saturday, as they travel to last-place Davis & Elkins.
Around the MEC
This loss stings for Wesleyan as they cannot capitalize on an opportunity to tie Wheeling for the sixth spot after the Cardinals unexpectedly lost on Wednesday at Concord. WVSU is now a game out of the second spot in the standings, and they have a matchup looming with Charleston on the last day of the regular season. Frostburg State has now won their last three games all at home with buzzer beating shots, and are currently only one game back of Wesleyan.
