Recap

West Virginia Wesleyan Softball opened their 2020 season this past weekend with four games in a tournament at Glenville State. The weekend resulted in three wins, starting with game one, in which the Lady 'Cats defeated Shepherd 7-4. The second game was an eight-inning thriller, which eventually ended in a 4-3 Mansfield victory after teams had to place a runner at second to start the eighth inning. The Lady 'Cats opened Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Mercyhurst, and they defeated Shepherd for the second time in two days in the final game, 10-4.

The offense star of the weekend was Sophomore Destiny Alvarado.
