Recap
After a down game on Wednesday, it was clear that
Dusan Vicentic was going to be motivated on Saturday against Urbana. In the 70-56 victory over the Blue Knights, the senior forward put together his seventh double-double of the season with a 26-point, 14-rebound performance. The two-man game mentioned in the preview was on full-display on Saturday, as
Luka Petrovic collected nine assists, many of which were to his fellow Serbian teammate. Those two lead the way, as no other Bobcat found himself in double figures. On the other side, Urbana killed their offense with three-point attempts. They jacked up 34 three point shots over the 40 minutes, shooting just 23.5% from behind the line. Combined with a 50.0% clip from the free-throw line, and just a 33.3% mark from the field, Wesleyan kept the Blue Knights under their league-worst 67.1 points per game. Despite the variety of offensive weapons displayed in this one, it has to be good for Coach
Nick Patella to see his team put together such a strong defensive performance. Patella grabs his second win against Urbana this season, the school that he got his first career head coaching victory against five years ago.Â

Around the MEC
Wheeling continues to turn heads around the league, holding onto sole possession of the sixth seed with a home victory over WVSU. The race between Wesleyan and Wheeling for the sixth seed will be intriguing over the final three weeks of the season, and both teams went 2-0 this week to increase the intensity. Wesleyan could open up the seeding battles even further with a win at WVSU on Wednesday, as the Yellow Jackets are two games up on them, and one game up on Wheeling.
