ATHENS, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (0-3) men's basketball had three players score in double figures as Concord (2-1) clipped the Bobcats by a final score of 73-69 at the Carter Center in Athens, W.Va. on Wednesday (Jan. 13).Â

Leaders for WVWC
Ross Young recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Jaylin Reed scored in double digits for the third consecutive game after his 14 point performance.
Jaret Mullooly connected on four 3-pointers for the second time this year and finished with a career-high 14 points.Â

Leaders for Concord
Liam Evans scored a game-high 22 points and hauled in nine rebounds. Malik Johnson added 12 points and dished out seven assists. Â

Concord shot 45.0 percent (27-for-60) from the field. The Bobcats outrebounded the Mountain Lions by a 41-34 margin. Wesleyan converted nine shots from beyond the arc and finished 12-for-16 from the charity stripe. WVWC outscored Concord 42-34 in the second half.Â

Inside the First Half
Mullooly had his shot going from long range early on as he drilled a triple less than 90 seconds into the contest for a quick 5-3 edge. Wesleyan led 9-5 at the 15:04 mark of the first half before the Mountain Lions went on a 13-0 run over the next four minutes.Â

Jayden Hibbitt drained back-to-back 3-pointers to bring the Bobcats within one trailing 26-25 with 5:17 remaining before halftime. Concord ended the first half on a 13-2 run to lead 39-27 at the break.Â

Inside the Second Half
Concord created a 52-33 advantage nearly five minutes into the second half and the work was cut out for WVWC. Mullooly connected on another trifecta with 7:07 left to cut the deficit to 58-48.

The Mountain Lions did enough to fend off a dramatic Bobcat comeback, but Wesleyan outscored Concord 11-3 in the final 1:23.Â
