BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Jaylin Reed scored a game-high 24 points as the West Virginia Wesleyan (0-7) men's basketball team slipped late in an 84-76 setback to Alderson Broaddus (4-3) inside the Rockefeller Center on Saturday (Jan. 30).Â

Reed has now scored over 20 points in four games this season.
Daylin Lee registered his third double-double of the campaign with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Ross Young also notched his third double-double this year after scoring 14 points and hauling in 11 rebounds.Â

Leaders for Alderson Broaddus
Christian Miller-Cardwell delivered a season-high 21 points for the Battlers to pair with seven rebounds. David Shriver and Josh Bradford each had 18 points.

Alderson Broaddus shot 47.0 percent (31-for-66) from the field while Wesleyan shot at a 43.1 percent clip (31-for-72). The Bobcats outrebounded the Battlers, 48-34. AB scored 19 points off of turnovers.Â

The Battlers started off the contest red-hot from beyond the arc as Miller-Cardwell buried his third trifecta of the game to put the visitors ahead, 16-7 (14:44 left). Wesleyan answered with an 11-3 run after a
Daylin Lee 3-pointer pulled the Bobcats within one at 19-18 at the 12:05 mark.Â

Zach Seese provided a quick five points off of the bench nearly halfway through the first half as WVWC trailed 26-23.Â

Only 17 seconds were left ticking in the opening half and the Bobcats found themselves behind 41-32. Reed converted a layup with seven seconds left and KJ Walker turned the ball over for AB, setting up one final play in the half for Wesleyan with only 0.9 seconds remaining. Reed inbounded to Young who quickly passed to
Shawn Moran for a buzzer-beating 3-pointer. The play handed the Bobcats momentum heading into halftime, even when the Battlers led 41-37.Â

Inside the Second Half
WVWC snagged its first lead of the second half (48-46) on a triple by
Jaret Mullooly at the 16:38 mark. Both teams exchanged baskets for a majority of the second frame. Reed made a layup after an excellent assist by
Tommie Pope as the Bobcats led 67-66 with 4:53 to go in regulation.Â

Trailing 76-69 with 1:22 remaining, Reed drilled a trifecta to keep the Bobcats in it, but that's the closest they would get. AB held off Wesleyan to win on the road, 84-76.Â
