Women's Soccer Preview: Glenville State & Charleston

WVWC women's soccer aims to keep the positive momentum going while on the road.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team will travel to Glenville State on Wednesday (Oct. 20) for a night game at 7 p.m. followed by a trip to the capital city of West Virginia to face Charleston on Sunday (Oct. 24) at 1 p.m.

  • MaKatlyn Tucker scored three goals in just a 14-minute span against Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday (Oct. 13) in a 3-0 victory for WVWC's first hat trick since 2019.

Scouting Glenville State
Glenville State is 1-11-0 overall and 0-10-0 in MEC play after 6-1 loss to Davis & Elkins.

Mackenzie Hendricks and Merel Smets lead the points chart for the Pioneers with thre as both have contributed a lone goal and assist so far this season.

J. R. Dodson is in his first season as the head coach of the Pioneers women's soccer team.

Scouting Charleston
The Golden Eagles beat the reigning MEC champion Notre Dame (Ohio) Falcons 2-0 last time out, stretching their overall mark to 8-4-0 (7-3-0 in MEC play).

Dutch sophomore Laura Vierhout has six goals to her name this season whilst Italian Roberta Pomi has contributed three assists.

Todd Diuguid is the current head coach of the Golden Eagles and has been for 21 years.
