BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan lacrosse team (0-2) was bested by Davis & Elkins (2-0), 14-3 on Sunday (March 28) afternoon at Ross Field in Buckhannon, W.Va.

WVWC Leaders
Victoria Sisson recorded her second-consecutive multi-goal game. Sisson led the 'Cats with two goals. Makenzi Lewellyn scored her second goal of the season in the first half. Iris Kolenich dished out two assists to Sisson.

Gabrielle Cleaveland made 15 saves and recorded six ground balls. Sam Mise tallied three ground balls for WVWC. Kolenich, Madysan Chisholm, and Lauren Bolen each caused one turnover.

Davis & Elkins Leaders
The Senators had three players score multiple goals. Emily Smith led the way with four goals, while Paige Graff added three goals and Taylor Baker scored two goals for D&E. Graff and Courtnie Couch each distributed two assists.

Smith led Davis & Elkins with five ground balls. Smith, Graff, Sarah Zapata, Haleigh Forand, and Ryann Sumner, each caused two turnovers. Goalkeeper Marissa Cuevas received the win and made two saves.

Inside the First Half
Davis & Elkins scored the first five goals of the period. Wesleyan got on the board thanks to Lewelyn's goal with 5:10 remaining in the first half. The Senators scored one more goal before the break to extend their lead to 6-1 at the end of the first half.

Inside the Second Half
Wesleyan responded early in the second half and cut the D&E lead to four. Sisson found the back of the net and was assisted by Kolenich. The Senators then scored six consecutive goals and took a 10 point lead. Sisson scored again with 6:10 remaining in regulation. Kolenich was credited with an assist. The Senators scored two more goals and won 14-3.
