The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team is scheduled to begin the season on the road this Friday (March 5
) for a 'Battle of the Bobcats' as they face Frostburg State in a 6 p.m. kickoff. This will be the season opener for the team after the game versus Alderson Broaddus was postponed last weekend.

- Senior forward/midfielder Taylor Maucere was top of the game winning goals leaderboard for the Lady Bobcats last season with four.
- Granville, Ohio native Natalie Pireu is back for her junior year after previously converting the winning penalty to secure the 2018 Mountain East Conference Championship during her freshman year.

- Richard Owens is entering his third season as head coach, whilst recently hired assistant Christian Bukowski enters his first with the Bobcats.
- The 2020-21 regular season will consist of 8 games against Mountain East Conference opposition followed by the MEC Tournament in which the two top teams from each of the three divisions will qualify. Wesleyan is in the Central Division.
Scouting Frostburg State
Frostburg State enters the game on the back of a 2-1 win in their season opener at Davis and Elkins. Juniors Alexis Pate and Audra Curtin found the net in that victory to ensure that Frostburg was victorious.
Freshman Ashley Bilger made her debut between the posts last time out and made five saves.
In the MEC Central Division, Frostburg State was predicted to finish second with 32 points and two first place votes, only behind Wesleyan (42 points and nine first place votes).
In charge of Frostburg State is Brian Parker in his 19
th season as the head coach.
Last Season vs Frostburg State
Last season's only matchup between the two came at Culpepper Stadium where West Virginia Wesleyan came away with a 4-0 victory.
Taylor Maucere scored her first goal of the season to open the scoring and
Lauren Baumgartner chipped in with 2 assists on a fine evening in Buckhannon.
