INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- After dropping game one, the West Virginia Wesleyan (8-4) softball team responded with five different players driving in runs in a game two victory against West Virginia State (16-8) at Lady Jackets Field on Saturday, April 10.Â

Game One (WVSU 8, WVWC 3)
The Bobcats wasted little time to get on the board first.
Kiley Turner singled up the middle to score
Grace Smith in the top of the first inning.Â

Brooke Clark extended Wesleyan's lead to 3-0 when she ripped a 2-run triple down the right field line in the top of the fourth. The Yellow Jackets answered in the bottom half of the frame with seven runs spurred by a 2-run homer from Emma Ruth.Â

Turner finished 2-for-3 at the plate.Â

Game Two (WVWC 5, WVSU 1)
Turner continued her strong start at the plate with an RBI single to right field in the bottom of the third.
Kelley Bourne reached on an error while
Lauryn King scored for a 2-0 advantage after three innings.Â
Â
WVWC tacked on three more runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Bobcats loaded up the bases and Bella Power drew a walk.
Lauren Niglio brought Turner home on a groundout and
Molly Osborne laced a single to center as Bourne scored.Â

The Yellow Jackets also loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but only pushed across one run.Â
Â
Abigail O'Shields (4-2) struck out seven batters in the complete game effort.Â
