CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston (19-5) kept the West Virginia Wesleyan (8-6) softball bats at bay in both games of a doubleheader at UC Softball Field on Sunday, April 11.Â

Game One (Charleston 4, WVWC 0)
After snagging an early 1-0 lead after one inning, a pair of RBI singles to center in the bottom of the third by Megan Eder and Emma Groe put the Golden Eagles up 3-0.Â

Groe homered in the bottom of the sixth for an insurance run.Â

Game Two (Charleston 6, WVWC 1)
Lauryn King placed a single in front of the UC left fielder as
Brooke Clark came around to score the first run of the game in the top of the first.Â

Wesleyan led 1-0 until the Golden Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.Â
Â
Grace Hightower finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Clark was 2-for-4 at the dish with a run scored.Â

The West Virginia Wesleyan softball team has a busy week coming up with a pair of rescheduled doubleheaders. WVWC will travel to Frostburg State on Wednesday (April 14) for a 2 p.m. doubleheader before playing at Fairmont State on Thursday (April 15) in another doubleheader that is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
