BLUEFIELD, W.Va.- The West Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Bluefield State in a non-conference matchup on Saturday (April 17).

In doubles play, Bluefield State clinched the point after taking the first two matches at No. 1 and No. 2. However, the duo of
Carlos Dodero Fernandez and
Haruki IIzuka showed some fight to force a tiebreak in their match. The duo dropped the match, 7-6 after dropping the first two tiebreak points.

In singles action, Dodero Fernandez continued his fine week at No. 1. After dropping the first set, 6-3, Dodero Fernandez bounced back. He won the second set 6-2 and the "Super Tiebreaker" in set three 10-4.

Camillo Salvi claimed the other point for WVWC. Salvi dominated the opening set winning 6-1. After dropping the second set 6-4, Salvi persevered in the third set winning 10-7.
