Delgado and Sostre Hit Back-to-Back Jacks in Series Finale

Adrian Delgado and Geovani Sostre both crushed home runs, but Concord prevailed in both games of Sunday's doubleheader.

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (3-15) baseball team dropped the remaining two games of its series at Hank Ellis Field against Concord (8-16) on Sunday, April 18.

Game One (Concord 6, WVWC 1)
The Bobcats fell behind 4-0 after four innings while Eddie Blake (2-0) cruised on the mound for the Mountain Lions.

Richard Ortiz hit an opposite field home run to right in the top of the fifth for a 5-0 advantage.

Wesleyan strung together three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning to bring across one run as the final score read 6-1.

Colin Bryant pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in his second appearance of the season.

Game Two (Concord 12, WVWC 3)
Concord scored five runs in the top of the third inning capped off by a Nick Funk 2-run single to center.

Down 6-0 in the next half-inning, Adrian Delgado blasted a 2-run homer to left. On the very next pitch, Geovani Sostre launched a solo shot that also sailed over the left field fence to cut the deficit in half.

Funk's 3-run homer in the top of the sixth inning seemed to put the game out of reach (12-3).
