Career Performance Propels King to MEC Player of the Week Honors

Lauryn King recorded the most RBI in a single game so far season at the NCAA Division-II level as she claims MEC Softball Player of the Week.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan senior outfielder Lauryn King earned Mountain East Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday (April 26).

King hit a 3-run homer and grand slam en route to a nine RBI performance against Davis & Elkins on Tuesday (April 26) in game two. 9 RBI is currently the best for a single game in NCAA Division-II this season and tied for the single game high across all NCAA levels in 2021.

In game one versus D&E on Tuesday, King went 3-for-4 with an RBI single. She is tied for the team-high in RBI this year with 23.

WVWC softball is scheduled to visit Frostburg State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 27 at 2 p.m.
