BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Devin Taylor of the West Virginia Wesleyan men's track & field team earned Mountain East Conference Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday (April 26).Â
Taylor got the momentum rolling for WVWC in the Bobcat/Tiger Last Chance meet on Friday (April 23) when he helped the 4x100 meter relay team to victory off of a sensational anchor leg. The team of Tanner Faulkiner,Â
Keith Parks and Tré Gulley finished with a time of 42.13 seconds.
Taylor wasn't finished yet. The junior set a new personal record of 10.66 seconds in the 100-meter dash and just missed out on the school record. Taylor ran the 200-meter dash in 22.01 seconds while taking third place in the event.
The Upper Marlboro, Md., native achieved MEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week honors as a member of the Wesleyan football team earlier in the year on March 15.
The MEC track & field championships are set for May 2-4 in Glenville, W.Va.
